How to Execute a Buy Order

Once you’ve funded your account and selected an asset you would like to invest in, you can indicate the number of units you would like to purchase by clicking on the + or - symbol, or using the slider.

  • Generally, the minimum investment amount is $5,000, rounded up to the nearest whole unit.
  • At this time, investments can only be made in increments of $5,000. For select assets, there may be tiered pricing savings depending on the amount of your investment.

After reviewing the information about the underlying company and selecting the amount you would like to invest, click on Begin Order.

Once in the Buy Order screen, you will be able to review the following items to ensure that they are correct before executing your order:

  1. Investment Details: Here you will find the total dollar amount of the investment, the price per share/unit and the estimated number of shares. Please be aware that you are purchasing units interest in the shares of the underlying company through the means of a single-company fund.
  2. Payment: This section is where you can choose how to pay for your order. Investors have the option to pay with cash or leverage your existing holdings to effectively exchange into a new asset on the platform if available.
    1. If paying with cash: You must fund your account before placing your order within your Linqto Cash Account. To learn more about funding, please review our “Funding Your Account” article.
    2. If paying with holdings: When starting your order, if you have any holdings that can be utilized, you will see an option under the "Pay With" section of the order. This is an all-or-nothing trade. Holdings are prioritized to complete the order and investors will have the ability to use cash to cover any residual amount if needed. The value of your holdings will be exchanged at the Sell Order rate.
  3. Discounts: If you would like to apply a Promo Code or Linqto Bucks to an order, this is the section to do so.
      • Linqto Bucks may be applied as a credit, up to a limit of 10% of your total investment through the Linqto platform which will reduce the cost basis. Please note that this 10% cap, as well as all other terms and conditions related to our rewards program, may be subject to change at Linqto’s discretion as noted in our Linqto Bucks Referral Program Terms and Conditions.
  4. Purchase Agreements: Any agreements associated with your order will be listed here, including the Subscription agreement and Operating agreement. Please be sure to review these in full before checking the box to confirm that you've read the documents and agree to be bound by their terms.
  5. After you have reviewed all the details of the offer, you can click Place Order to finalize the investment. Settlement is instant and sales are final.

Investment documents are issued once your investment is completed. A set of these documents are automatically generated for each completed order. The investment documents will be accessible at any time by heading into the My Portfolio section from our Website or Mobile app:

  1. Operating Agreement: Outlines how Linqto Liquidshares operates. This document also guides the authority the managing member has over the fund.
  2. Subscription Agreement: Reflects the total size (dollar amount) of your investment as well as the company fund (block) you've allocated in.
  3. Membership Certificate: Certifies the share count you're entitled to receive once a company experiences a liquidity event (i.e. IPO, Acquisition, DPO).

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I purchase additional units with my remaining cash balance?

At this time, you can only invest in the preset increments available. You'll need to meet the minimum investment amount each time you place an order.

Why don't I see an asset available for an exchange?

There typically two reasons why an asset may not be available for an exchange:

  1. It has not been held for 90 days - all assets must be held for at least 90 days before they can be redeemed or exchanged.
  2. The asset is not open for redemptions - not all assets have this feature available or there may not be enough liquidity available. To learn more about this, review our article about Sell Orders here.

I forgot to use my Linqto Bucks or other discount, can they be added to my order after it's been completed?

No. Once an order has been completed, it cannot be modified.
