Funding Your Account

Linqto is a T+0 platform which requires all investments to be pre-funded prior to placing orders. Each Linqto member has a unique JP Morgan brokerage-style account for holding their cash prior to placing an order (or after a redemption).

There are currently three options for funding your account:

To get started, head to the Wallet section, then choose the account you’d like to fund by selecting the respective Cash Balance button. Click on Add Funds to see all available funding options.

Next, click Select account under Funding Source to display the funding options.

Uphold

Uphold is a separate company from Linqto but one which we work closely with. Uphold’s digital wallet can hold US dollars, foreign currencies, and cryptocurrencies. All of these assets can be used to fund your wallet at Linqto. To get started, simply click the Uphold option; this will take you to an Uphold page where you can sign in to connect your wallet.

Once connected, you’ll see all available currencies in your wallet that are available to convert and transfer to Linqto. Keep in mind, if you are transferring something other than USD, Uphold will handle the conversion for you but will charge a fee. Deposits via Uphold are instantly available.

At this time, only individual accounts can connect Uphold wallets; we do not yet support connections for entities, but our team is working on expanding this functionality.

Bank Account (Plaid ACH Transfer)

Linqto uses Plaid to facilitate ACH transfers. Plaid is a financial services platform that facilitates the use of your online banking credentials to transfer funds directly to Linqto. If there is a connection with your bank available, this allows a seamless transfer process without the need to manually input account/routing numbers. If you’d like to learn more about how Plaid protects your data, you can do so here.

To use this option, select Bank Account - this will start the Plaid linking process. Next, select Continue, then enter your phone number and choose Continue or Continue as a guest.

You’ll now see a search bar to find your financial institution. Plaid connects with most major US institutions so if you don’t see your bank listed or you’re having trouble connecting to it, there may be limited support for your bank.

Note: International members should use a wire transfer or Uphold wallet as Plaid is not available for international banks.

After selecting your institution, you’ll need to use your banking credentials to sign-in, then choose the account you’d like to link. Upon successful linking Plaid will provide basic information, such as the name of the account owner, which we will use to verify that this is your bank account. If there is a match, the account will be immediately available for use.

If there is a mismatch, our team will need to review before the linkage is approved. We typically see this for joint bank accounts as we are only passed one owner name. Should this occur, you’ll be prompted to upload a statement to verify ownership and member of our team may reach out to you to collect more information.

After an account is successfully linked, you’ll be able to make a deposit and have instant access to funds up to $25,500, with a maximum of 2 unsettled deposits. If you are considering making a large allocation, a wire transfer may be a better option.

Wire Transfer

After selecting Wire Transfer, you’ll be presented the instructions needed for your bank to complete the transfer. Keep in mind, if you have multiple accounts with Linqto (e.g. an entity), each account has it’s own unique account number.

Note: The routing number is only used for domestic wires. International wires will require the SWIFT/BIC.

Once a wire is sent, domestic wires are typically received in 1-3 business days and international wires in 3-5 business days. You’ll receive an email confirmation once the funds are received and available for use in your account.

For international members, we suggest converting funds to USD prior to sending as this will ensure you know the exact amount to be sent over. There may be additional fees for conversion which could cause less funds to be received than anticipated.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is there a minimum investment on Linqto?

Yes. For first time investors, the minimum investment amount is $2,500 for the first order. After the first order, the minimum returns to our standard of $5,000. All Linqto investments are rounded to the nearest whole shares, so the order amounts vary slightly by company; ensure you are checking the respective asset’s page prior to funding. We suggest sending in additional funds to account for any price fluctuations.

Are there limits on the amount of funds I can transfer?

ACH is the only deposit method with limits. Linqto members can have a max of two unsettled (pending) ACH transactions at a time. There is also a $25,500 instant ACH limit - any amount over this will settle regular way (1-3 business days).

Can I link more than one bank account via Plaid?

At this time, Linqto members are limited to one linked bank account via Plaid per cash account.

What currency does Linqto accept to fund orders?

USD is the only accepted currency.

If your home currency is different than USD, we suggest converting the funds prior to initiating the wire. This will ensure you know exactly how much is being sent and there will be no surprise conversion fees.

When using an Uphold wallet to fund an order, the currency of choice is automatically converted at the time of transaction so there is no need to convert to USD first - keep in mind there are fees for this conversion.

Does Linqto charge fees for transfers?

Linqto does not charge fees during the deposit process but there may be fees charged by whichever option you choose to use.

  • ACH transfers do not have fees.
  • Wire transfers typically have a fee charged by your bank. For specific amounts, it’s best to speak with them directly.
  • For Uphold, there will be fees if you are transferring something other than USD. This fee is for converting the asset and will be displayed prior to the deposit being initiated.
